Project Overview

The Undergarments Donation Programme was carried out at the Kappetipola Child Probationary Centre, with the support of volunteers from Brotherhood for Humanity (BFH) and funded by the Tennyson & Vinitha Rodrigo Trust (TVR Trust). Kappetipola Child Probationary Centre is operated by the Department of Probation in the Uva Province. Prior to the implementation of the project, Brotherhood for Humanity (BFH) conducted a detailed assessment to identify the needs of children residing in probationary homes managed by the Department of Probation in the Uva Province. Based on these findings, this initiative was undertaken to address essential requirements while also creating a positive and engaging experience for the children.

The primary objective of the programme was to provide undergarments for each child, ensuring their comfort and promoting proper hygiene. In addition, the initiative aimed to create a joyful environment, foster a sense of togetherness and belonging, and leave a meaningful and lasting impact on the children. The event also included a range of interactive games that encouraged participation, teamwork, and enjoyment. Music and dance activities were organized, allowing the children to express themselves freely.
