Project Overview

The National Eye Hospital serves as a lifeline for thousands of patients facing vision-threatening conditions. During a period of critical shortage of Avastin, a vital medication used to prevent blindness, the hospital faced significant challenges in continuing essential treatments.

Responding to a request from Dr. Mangala Dhanapala, Consultant Eye Surgeon of the hospital’s retinal unit, the Trust stepped in to support the urgent need by donating eleven vials of Avastin. Each vial contributed to restoring access to treatment for numerous patients who would have been at risk of losing their vision.

This timely intervention enabled the hospital to continue its essential services and brought renewed hope to hundreds of individuals in need of sight-saving care.
