On the evening of 11th October 2024, a special dinner was organized for the students of the Blind School in Ratmalana in conjunction with the Annual General Meeting of BFH. The event was funded by the Tennyson & Vinitha Rodrigo Trust (TVR Trust), following a request from BFH. The Trust provided financial support as part of its continued commitment to contributing to programmes that support and uplift visually impaired communities.
Approximately 110 children participated in the programme, which was designed to be more than just a meal. The intention was to create a joyful and memorable evening where the children could relax, engage, and enjoy themselves. A menu including kottu, egg hoppers, plain hoppers, desserts, and beverages was thoughtfully arranged, featuring items that the children enjoy but do not often receive.
The evening included music, dancing, and a variety of fun activities, creating a warm and lively atmosphere. It was heartening to see the children actively participating, expressing themselves freely, and enjoying the occasion together. The programme concluded with the distribution of gifts, which added to the excitement and left the children with happy and lasting memories.
