A 23-year-old patient had been suffering from scoliosis since childhood, with her condition gradually worsening over time. Based on medical evaluations and clinical reports, it was determined that her condition required prompt surgical intervention to prevent further complications and to improve her quality of life.
She was subsequently advised to undergo further specialized treatment and surgical correction at Kauvery Hospital in Chennai, India, under the supervision of Dr. Dilip Chand Raja, Senior Consultant Spine Surgeon. However, due to financial constraints, the patient had to postpone the recommended surgery. Her father, who is employed at a tea factory in Gampola, was unable to bear the substantial cost of the treatment.
In this context, a request for assistance was received by the Trust to support Ms. Ranasinghe in proceeding with the necessary surgical treatment and to help alleviate the financial burden on her family during this critical period.
