This project was initiated in response to a formal request received from Vigneshwara College, Watawala, located in the Hatton Education Zone of the Nuwara Eliya District. The project aimed to support 592 students and 37 teachers by enhancing the school’s cultural and performing arts activities. Identified needs included the provision of musical instruments, materials for traditional dance costumes, as well as funds to cover tailoring and sewing costs, along with Salangi, Ottiyanam, and complete makeup sets for students. To address these needs, the project involved purchasing the required musical instruments and related items for school use, allocating funds for costume materials and sewing, and procuring essential accessories and makeup sets to support students’ participation in cultural performances and preserving traditional art forms.
